Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation, recognised the importance of coaching as a vital skill for middle managers to enhance psychological safety and operational resilience. To achieve this, they enlisted Compass Partnership International to create a tailored coaching programme to empower a team of in-house trainers to deliver effective coaching training to middle managers, addressing the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Solution:

We developed a bespoke online coaching programme complemented by a Train-the-Trainer module. This programme was meticulously designed, incorporating best-practice coaching frameworks and methodologies (including the GROW and OSKAR models), to ensure that our client’s internal trainers could deliver the coaching training independently in the future, thereby embedding the coaching culture within the organisation. The initial phase included a 5-module Foundation Coach Development Programme, for which we crafted and delivered pre-workshop activities, interactive Zoom sessions with our senior coaches, and post-workshop critical reflections. Additionally, we introduced an advanced Action Learning Set programme to further instil coaching skills through problem-solving techniques.

Outcomes:

The implementation of this programme significantly bolstered coaching capabilities within the organisation, fostering a psychologically safe and resilient environment for middle managers. The internal trainers, equipped with comprehensive materials and experience, were able to continue delivering the coaching programme, ensuring its sustainability.

This initiative reduced the reliance on external coaching providers, creating a self-sustaining coaching culture within the company.
