Recognising that effective leadership is crucial for fostering a positive workplace culture, our client – the medical organisation within a leading global biopharmaceutical company – partnered with us at Compass Partnership International to co-design a structured programme aimed at preparing managers for advanced leadership roles. The goal was to ensure a consistent quality of leadership thinking and behaviour to drive business growth via a robust leadership talent pipeline.

Solution:

We conducted a thorough training needs analysis (TNA) of our client’s existing leadership structure to identify skill and capability gaps and opportunities. Based on this assessment, we co-developed a four-tiered leadership programme with our client to support managers throughout their development journey. The programme included practical business challenges and real-world case studies to ensure relevance and application. The four tiers were:

  1. Foundations of Management 
  2. Stepping Into Leadership 
  3. Challenge Your Leadership Thinking 
  4. Big Thinking for Experienced Leaders 
Implementation involved a mix of in-person workshops, virtual learning sessions, and one-on-one 
coaching, using scenario-based learning and simulations to enhance decision-making and strategic 
thinking skills. We provided continuous feedback and coaching to reinforce learning, along with impact studies to measure programme effectiveness and identify areas for development and future innovation. 

Outcomes:

The programme successfully prepared a new cadre of leaders ready to take on advanced roles within the organisation. Participants reported significant improvements in strategic thinking, decision- making, and leadership capabilities. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the practical relevance and immediate applicability of the skills learned.
